Are you ready to take your coaching practice to the next level? Mentor coaching isn't just a prerequisite for ICF credentialing—it's an investment in your professional growth that can profoundly enhance your coaching skills, confidence, and career opportunities.
ICF Requirements and Program Overview
ICF requires credentialing candidates on the ACC, ACSTH, and Portfolio paths to complete 10 hours of mentor coaching over at least three months. This process is designed to help you meet ICF standards, sharpen your competencies, and demonstrate mastery in key coaching areas like active listening, powerful questioning, and fostering client growth. CLCI's mentor coaching cohorts, led by experienced PCC/MCC-level mentors, provide the perfect environment to fulfill these requirements and build a solid foundation for success.
CLCI’s Mentor Coaching Program is a comprehensive program designed to help you develop the competencies required to earn your desired ICF credential. The focus is on developing your coaching skills for the benefit of both you and your clients.
Mentor Coaching Program Structure and Benefits
Certified Life Coach Institute's program includes a mix of one-on-one and group sessions, designed to ensure you meet ICF requirements while benefiting from the support of both peers and experienced mentors. Specifically, the program consists of:
Four 90-minute group sessions
Three 60-minute one-on-one sessions
One 60-minute group wrap-up session
Mentor coaching offers more than just the chance to meet ICF requirements. Through personalized feedback from an experienced mentor, you'll gain insights into your strengths, discover areas for improvement, and learn how to better align your practice with ICF core competencies. Mentors provide specific verbal and written feedback on your coaching sessions, helping you understand what you're doing well and what needs improvement to achieve a deeper level of mastery. This process also encourages self-reflection, ethical growth, and greater self-awareness—key elements in becoming a truly impactful coach.
High Standards, Ethical Commitment, and Coaching Partnership
CLCI-sponsored mentor coaches are held to the highest standards and adhere to the ICF Code of Ethics. During the program, mentors model effective initiation of client relationships, explore your coaching goals, and establish clear measures of success in partnership with you. This not only ensures your coaching sessions meet ICF standards but also fosters a supportive environment for your growth.
Coaching is a partnership between the mentor and mentee, designed to inspire you to maximize your personal and professional potential. By participating in mentor coaching, you demonstrate a commitment to excellence and ongoing professional development. The mentorship encourages you to communicate openly, receive constructive feedback, and take an active role in your learning. This comprehensive process will help you build confidence in your abilities, navigate complex ethical considerations, and ultimately, enhance the quality of your coaching practice.
Flexibility, Career Growth, and Additional Support
CLCI's mentor coaching cohorts are designed to be both flexible and supportive, fitting into your schedule while delivering the insights and feedback you need to grow.
Over the course of the program, you'll refine your skills and build a network of like-minded coaches who are on the same journey. Our program not only helps you meet ICF requirements but also positions you for increased job satisfaction, career success, and potentially higher earnings as a highly qualified professional coach.
In addition to the required sessions, CLCI offers optional support for mentees who wish to continue their growth after completing the program. If you're unsure about submitting for a performance evaluation after completing the 10 hours, you can book additional one-on-one sessions with your mentor for further tailored feedback and support.
